This Is Why Sending A Card Flat Out Works

If you’re not familiar with Joe Girard, you need to be.

He’s now a best-selling author and motivational speaker…

joe girardDuring his working days in the car business, he accomplished something nobody since ever has.

He’s the only salesperson ever inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame for selling more cars than anyone else in the world.

During his fifteen year selling career, he sold 13,001 cars, all at retail — no fleet, wholesale or used cars.

Joe Girard was once asked how he sells more automobiles than anyone else in the world.

A TRUTH That’s Often Hard To Swallow

Here’s a marketing lesson you need to listen to carefully…

I see this all the time — from affiliates, publishers in our peer group, and even a few of my past business partners.

Yes, when a customer, subscriber, or even JV Partner whines, gives unsolicited advice (in the form of complaints) on the changes that should be made, or feels victimized by good ole fashioned marketing strategy, SOME MARKETERS CURL UP IN A BALL ON THE FLOOR WITH THEIR THUMB IN THEIR MOUTH.

Lifestyles of The Rich and Hard-Working

Even though I was intentionally setting out to dive into some more intriguing areas of AskMen.com, I couldn’t help but notice this conveniently located (didn’t have to scroll the page to see it) and bolded question asked to Mr. Leach:

Which houses took your breath away?

Lifestyles of the Rich, Famous, and Hard-working“Well, the house in Germany with 365 rooms and a room map so you would not get lost. The house in Australia that was so large, they had a chauffeur driving you from one room to another. A 50,000-square foot house that was on the Pacific coast in Mexico. An all-gold house in Hong Kong. Celebrities are nowhere as rich as some people think they are. It is usually people in the money business, finance, and international trade that are really rich. You generally find that the number of very wealthy [celebrities] is not more than a couple of handfuls.”

This Robin Leach reminiscing of these houses reminded me of all the times, when I was living in Virginia Beach for 12 years, that I’d hop on my bike (mountain bike), head down to the boardwalk, and cruise on into a residential area of the beach called “Croatan”.

It’s through this away-from-the-computer time that I’d immerse myself into the culture, richness, and vicariously live through the extreme “vivid” experiences, of the Rich & Famous…

Er, or was is just the rich ? Read on to find out…

Network and Grow Rich

Let me tell ya something straight up:

Email just ain’t gonna cut it anymore if you’re serious about joint-ventures, knowing quality mailing partners, and striking up content deals.

I can’t begin to tell you how many times, in the beginning of my online marketing career, that I sat by and said to myself stuff like, “Aaaah, screw it… he hasn’t responded to my email so he must not be interested.” Or, “She seems unapproachable based off her schedule.”

Of course, in the former scenario, 75% of the time, the person I thought wasn’t interested either a) didn’t get my email or b) just hadn’t had time to respond to get the details from me.

And, in the latter scenario, 90% of the time, the person was completely receptive to hearing what I had to say.

The point here is this: pick up the @#$% phone :)

Yep, reach out and connect the old fashioned way. You’ll find it will add to your personal bottom line.

Or, if that ain’t your cup of tea, there is another way (after all, I know many people who totally despise the phone like they despise eating peas or hearing someone’s fingers screech across a chalkboard).

( TIP Alert ) - FDA Goes “Under-Cover” To Harrass Raw Milk Farmers

From Dr. Mercola

First there was the “raid” in Kentucky where eight FDA agents, along with four Cincinnati police officers, stopped the truck of a Kentucky farmer and began confiscating bottles of raw milk.

The lawmen tried to force the farmer into a “confession,” but the farmer merely stated what he offered to his shareholders and that the milk wasn’t pasteurized.

Now the FDA is bullying employees of Organic Pastures as though they are trying to sell street drugs.

Legalizing The Stupid Slap

Regardless of how DEEP I am into the research, investigation, studies and application of higher learning principles, I’m still a hard-edged REALIST at heart.

And that means, regardless of how evolved, on the path, or conscious someone thinks they are, it doesn’t excuse them from being called out on how stupid they are, either.

I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that some people, even if they say otherwise (or insinuate by what they “do” — i.e., read self-growth books, listen to our Simulcasts, attend seminars, etc.), just ain’t comfortable with themselves.

( Resources ) - Blacklists, Gmail, and Video Conversation

Here’s 4 must-have tools / resources that you’ll thank me for when you see / use them:

How To Get Off An Email Blacklist

If you’re wrongly and unjustifiably accused of spam or put on a black list, this 4-step process is just what you need to do. Every list owner and publisher needs to keep this page under lock n key. Click above to read all about it.

Consolidate Multiple Email Addresses Using Gmail

Gmail, no joke, has been a god send of productivity to me. And, I’m no easy sell when it comes to switching email clients. I was an hard-nosed, loyal OUTLOOK user for over 10 years. And, it took Heather’s sweet cajoling and luscious logic to even get me to try Gmail.

And, holy smokes, the time I now have to attend to the business of business has increased by at least 15%. No longer am I stuck in the maze of slow features that OUTLOOK bogged me down in. The above link tells you how to consolidate all your emails, regardless of what provider they come from, to one email address.

It doesn’t talk about the coolest part of Gmail, in my opinion: LABELS. But, sometime soon, I’ll post a video tutorial of how I use Gmail’s multiple labeling system to organize my life.

Jing Project: Video Conversation Starts Here

Speaking of video, I’ve been using a web 2.0 app, from TechSmith, called Jing. It’s free, full of amazing features, and I use it, yes, every day to talk to my LWL team members and partners.

It’s an always-ready program that instantly captures and shares images and video… from your computer to anywhere.

Here’s me using it to show you how I extract .mp3 music files from YouTube music videos.

Until next post,

Living a Life Without Limits,
