I was lucky enough to come across a video clip of James Spader’s character, Alan Shore, in the hit T.V. show Boston Legal.
James, of course, was talking to a fictional jury, but he’s really talking to every American.
In his closing arguments he gives a 3+ minute tirade on a topic that is now close to my heart, and should be to yours too: the apathy of the majority of the people in this world in the face of continual loss of liberty.
Never was the case for democracy so articulately and compellingly — and entertainingly — distilled into an argument that lasts just a few minutes.
For the most part (you’ll see why I grit my teeth by having to preface this sentence with that phrase), the internet as we know it NOW is a level playing field where anyone can compete regardless of business size or revenue.
Any voice can be heard regardless of opinion and/or economic means.
Whether you are reading a thoroughly crafted article from the Wall Street Journal or a simple comment from one of the millions of bloggers, like myself and Heather, across the world, your access to this information is your choice.
You are the decision maker.
But unfortunately, as of the date of this blog post, experiencing the Internet as open, diverse and democratic depends largely on upcoming policy decisions about Net Neutrality.

What’s the deal ?
In secret, without the knowledge of the voters, the public or even much of the media, George Bush has been accused, by some fairly significant political and societal watch-dog leaders, of signing an agreement to merge three nations (United States of America, Canada, and Mexico) into one Socialist mega-state: the “North American Union”, also known as the “Security and Prosperity Partnership”.

Starting in June 2005, I think I bought — hook, line and sinker — the same visions of grandeur that you might have when it comes to starting and operating an online business:
That it somehow, in a very short time, is a business that will run on its own, even when I’m intentionally trying to work banker’s hours.
While it didn’t take me long to shake myself away from the fantasy that selling products and services 100% online would magically increase my income while screwing around on the beach, or sleeping in a hammock somewhere, I still latched onto a related (and probably more sinister) belief:
That the only way to grow a successful online business is for me to do everything myself.
But, after an initial 12 months of 16-18 hour days, 7 days a week, I realized if I was to continue that, I’d be setting the foundation of my own “working prison.”
This news is breaking all over the nation: The U.S. water supply is contaminated with Big Pharma’s dangerous drugs.
Although the levels of contamination are quite small when considered one at a time, the scary part is that multiple drugs (including psychiatric drugs) are combining in the water supply and right now being swallowed by pregnant women, infants, children and everybody else.
It’s a grand medical experiment, and nobody knows the consequences.
What should be done about all this? Nothing, if you believe the EPA — yet another corrupt government “regulator” that has sold out to Big Business.
There’s more to the fun little title (”The Fox Mulder of Manifestation”) that I’ve been branded with than meets the eye.
Long before I became fascinated with the true inner-workings of the invisible world that affects our personal reality — long before my research and committed focus to ‘picking the brains’ of teachers of manifestation, I dove (and am still going deeper) into an area of investigation that is considered “on the fringe”.
Unfortunately, since most people are distracted and kept busy just “making it” & “getting by”, that’s a HUGE majority!
