Well… if you ate a piece of fruit, which is undeniably highly nutritious, and then we asked you what health benefits you felt from eating it, wouldn’t you think we were a little crazy?

If you took a Vitamin C pill and a Vitamin E pill daily, and we asked how it was affecting your health, would you be able to give a definitive objective answer?

If you were to say something like, “Well, last winter I had two colds and this year I haven’t had any,” could we specifically attribute that to the Vitamin C (or perhaps it might be because your mindset and beliefs have also changed, or because you’ve eaten healthier foods than last year)?

Can we ever say one thing consumed specifically affects us in a certain, undeniable way?

Treating our bodies well, and consuming supplements, vitamins and minerals that promote health and ongoing maintenance of our systems, doesn’t usually come with specific “feelings” or “noticing” what’s different… does it?

But would we expect her to get a surge of energy after downing an ounce?

Maybe some people actually do feel that effect, because every body is different.  But for Heather, it’s just about the satisfaction that she’s supplying herself and the baby with the nutritional benefits they both need, whether she can actually feel or notice it working or not.

And if she wasn’t taking them… who knows how she would feel at this point, six months pregnant, or how healthy she and the baby would be?

It’s about preventive maintenance, and optimization, NOT corrective measures.

How can we ever validate what specifically we put in our bodies has what specific effect - since every day we consume any number of things?

So looking for results that others have subjectively “noticed” is probably not the best measuring stick to use.

Of course for any health-related supplement, food, beverage, botanical, vitamin or mineral, there are people who say it increased their energy, fixed up aches and pains, helped them sleep better, etc… but, in all honesty, how do we REALLY know it was from that one thing alone?

In a scientific study, we need to have a “control”… that means we need to compare something that never changes to whatever we have changed.

To really check the effects of one thing ingested, we would need someone to eat the exact same foods at the exact same times every day for a month (or however long our study is), and record measurable, objective things about their health (like heart rate, blood pressure, sleep patterns, etc.) rather than relying on them to describe subjectively how they feel.

Then they would have to eat the exact same things at the exact same times for another month, but this time add the supplement, vitamin, mineral, etc. that we wanted to test, and record the same measurable, objective things to see if there was a change.

Obviously not too many people would do this… so it’s next to impossible to get a scientific study of what kind of impact one thing is going to have on our health.

You can say, “Well, I didn’t change anything about my diet except taking this thing.”  But really, how do you know that picking up a different type of egg, or a different brand of cereal or orange juice, or some steaks that were on sale, didn’t have an effect on you, too?

Now, obviously, people that are in good health and good shape to begin with probably never notice results as dramatic as those who are “broken” or “sick”, even in our hypothetical highly-controlled experiment.

So the best guinea pigs are going to be those that have a specific complaint, and want to see if one change will affect that one issue.

Does that mean the rest of us should stay away from nutritionally beneficial products, just because we won’t “notice” or “feel” results in the same way?

Absolutely not!

If you feel results from taking something, great!  If not, you’re probably giving yourself a great maintenance (rather than necessarily corrective) formulation anyhow that, over time, likely brings better health (whether specifically noticeable or not).

A product like Zrii does have the potential to make people feel healthier with noticeable results.  We know people who claim that their long-standing aches and pains have disappeared since drinking Zrii, or that they sleep much better now.

Also, their FAQ page says:

“One may notice that drinking Zrii before food allows them to feel the unique effects of the botanicals more quickly. This is because the drink enters the bloodstream more rapidly when consumed on an empty stomach.

When consuming Zrii with food, the active components will be digested along with it, driving them deeper into the tissues through the digestive process. In either scenario, the body will receive the nutritional benefits of the active ingredients. For individuals experiencing more deeply rooted or longstanding imbalances of the body, taking Zrii with food may assist the delivery process more effectively.”

So yes, some people may actually feel effects from drinking it.  Others may not, but “the body will receive the nutritional benefits of the active ingredients” anyhow.

…Is there any wonder you don’t know where to turn when trying to find a ready-made business-in-a-box ?

A business, in an industry by the way, that can produce a bonafide walkaway royalty check for you with 24 to 36 months of working it with the right amount of leadership and sound business practices.

It’s time to get REAL…

There ARE some absolutely solid, legit, highly credible companies out there - ones with exclusive, benefit- rich products or a sizzle product that comes to the market for all the right reasons.

Recently, we’ve found a HOME - a long-term home within a company that sells the only 3rd-party product to ever be endorsed by the Chopra Center for Wellbeing - the most credible endorsement in the history of Network Marketing.

With the proliferation of opportunities with NO hands-on products (i.e. education/investment courses, gifting programs, travel packages, surfing programs, etc.) one might ask, “Do I really need to be involved with a company that sells a physical product?”

Quite simply, the answer is YES!

But not just any product.   If it ties into your existing business ( it does for most online businesses ), you should ALSO be in the Nutrition (supplements, food, shakes, drinks, etc.) and/or Personal Care (moisturizers, shampoo, conditioners, facial, etc.) market.

Here are the cold hard facts:

#1) According to recent Direct Sales Association research, there have only been nine companies in the entire history of Network Marketing to achieve a billion dollars in annual sales. The rest seem to have short brilliant spurts of growth before coming crashing down.

#2) Of these nine, six of them are in the above mentioned market (nutrition and/or personal care).  These six are still around; the other three have fallen by the wayside.

#3) This market was created by the rapidly growing Global Wellness Movement – a $500 billion dollar per year movement/industry built around a population that is absolutely consumed with either looking good and/or feeling better!

If you want to earn BIG money, you must follow the trend!

Remember, true residual income only comes from consumption.  A tried and true Network Marketing company will have highly consumable, cutting edge products or an exclusive sizzle product that is needed (and wanted) by a broad segment of the population.

If you’re selling non-consumables, you’re essentially just in Direct Sales.  As soon as you stop whipping up the sales force, your income comes to a screeching halt!

If it’s consumable, it’s obviously tangible.  Distributors/customers will have a greater emotional tie and unwavering dedication to a results-oriented consumable product than, for example, an intangible “savings” on a cruise or an over-priced $1,000 course on Universal law and spiritual growth.

And, with the average retention rate on information-based membership sites being 3 to 5 months, what’s the answer ?

Meaning, running a pay-every-month membership site - over-loading member’s with information after information - doesn’t serve anybody either. After all, at some point, the person soaking in that info either a) gets what they need to achieve a result…or…. b) they realize “holy smokes, I’ve been so consumed in study, so involved in the how-to’s I forgot to spend time living, exploring, experiencing.” So, they cancel their membership and get on with the business of living.

Studying the past will help us to predict the future!

Don’t be one of them, or you’ll never achieve success in business!  “But it’s so tempting,” you say.  Yes it is.  With many a person shouting that they have “the absolute perfect opportunity, or online business model, in the history of the entire universe,”  it’s hard for even experienced entrepreneurs to not get carried away by the hype (hey, this happens to me occasionally too — so this friendly reminder serves me well also).

As a well-known industry watchdog is found of saying:  “Hype is designed to recruit you, not inform or educate you.“

You should only join a company after you do your own complete due-diligence (investigate, probe, research).

Never base your decision to get into business, or join a marketing program, on someone else’s unbridled EMOTION.

So, once you do find and settle on a niche, product, or business that you’re inspired by and would promote (even if you couldn’t make money for the effort — see my previous post Build Online Businesses That Last), focus passionately and unfalteringly on the process of achieving your desired walk-away leveraged income with that one niche, product, or business!

Spreading yourself too thin in too many entrepreneurial endeavors can (and usually does) lead to dismal failure.

Grasshoppers never get anywhere!

Always remember:  the real secret to success in online marketing and/or Direct referral-based sales is to understand that there is NO real secret to success beyond the willingness to be 100% committed to the mission and vision (the love part) — based on how your mission statement correlates to the product line.

Stay with and FOCUS on building a C.P.R. (consistent · predictable · reliable) base of customers until your niche, product, or business becomes large enough to be self-perpetuating.

One of the worst self-defeating behaviors in this industry is to NOT let your money, time, and effort accumulate by doing one thing well.  In short, quit throwing away half-attempted effort after effort and start (or do) acting like a stamp — “stick to one thing until you arrive at your intended destination.”

Or quit looking at future opportunity ads when you have current products to sell!  Any questions here?

A topic that, after discussing it with him, made me want to bring it to your attention as well.

A Fool and His (or Her) Schemes Are Soon Parted!

There’s an obvious BIG difference (not a fine line) between a pseudo MLM, money game and/or quasi-pyramid scheme, and a tried & true (legitimate) Network Marketing/Direct Sales opportunity.

Yet, there are still tons of people associated with — or staking their dreams on — the former.

Beware of so called money-making programs that have the following characteristics:

> no products or products of little value.

> poor or no provisions for retailing a product.

> pays upfront commissions of product vouchers or certificates.

> hyping-up and/or heavily promoting the money side of the business (the comp plan).

> encourages front-end loading and/or “buying your way up” into the compensation plan.

> pays you just for the act of recruiting and/or “recycling” current members.

> offers a high or quick ROI (return-on-investment) with little work & zero risk!

> no long-term stability. Ask yourself: “Can the last person in make money?” If the answer is NO, get out fast!

> gifting plans, chain letters (AKA mail order pyramids) and stamp programs fall under this category. Not only do they NOT work over the long haul, they’re illegal.

I’m not going to get into the merits and benefits of Network Marketing in this post (I’ll save it for another post in the near future), but I will briefly mention how Direct Sales relates to the internet, and how this still burgeoning way of doing business can mean LASTING revenue for you.

You have focused interests and hobbies, right?

Meaning, you’re probably skilled in a few areas of life that others aren’t (easy way to tell: When you’re with a group of friends, what do they say you talk about the most?).

Take these skills, interests, passions and START creating resources around them. Or, better yet, start writing about them (using a blog, like the very one I’m using here).

When I started working on ManifestLife.com in Feb 2005, I had an intense interest in the art & science of deliberate attraction and conscious creation (i.e., using an understanding of metaphysical laws to ACTIVELY create my world and experiences rather than letting life do it for me).

BEFORE I ever created my first product around that interest, I promoted other people’s products that met the following two criteria:

Criteria #1): Is it something I wanted, needed, or got value from anyway? I asked myself a pretty important question: would I use this product, even if I couldn’t make money promoting it?  If I didn’t have  an emotional tie and unwavering dedication to the product that I was promoting, I would have had a very hard time convincing others to buy it.  The following may seem basic, but always remember: you only get paid when you sell products.  Products don’t sell themselves, only people do.

Criteria #2): Was the “How To” or educational info product created out of a labor of love? In other words, just who the heck is the person who created it? And why?  True success always depends on the quality of the Product and the Individual who creates and maintains it. And I did all I could to determine if the person behind the content got in it for the PRODUCT first or the INCOME potential first. If it was the latter, I ditched it, and tried finding a benefit-rich course, teleseminar, book, or CD/DVD that was created because of the creator’s expertise and interest.

One of the things that is great about affiliate marketing is that you’re essentially earning referral commissions off of someone else’s website / creation (read: hard work). It gives you freedom from dealing with the hassles of finding a niche, creating a product, setting up a website, and maintaining inventory and customer service.

The key is to just ensure the two criteria I mentioned above are met.

But that doesn’t end there, you’ve gotta know how to make it work. According to studies, about 97 percent of affiliates barely make enough affiliate commissions to pay for their efforts.

If success was based on just working out, or just eating right, or just having the right mindset, most trainers and nutrition coaches would be out of a job.
