( TIP Alert ) - Internet Gatekeepers
For the most part (you’ll see why I grit my teeth by having to preface this sentence with that phrase), the internet as we know it NOW is a level playing field where anyone can compete regardless of business size or revenue.
Any voice can be heard regardless of opinion and/or economic means.
Whether you are reading a thoroughly crafted article from the Wall Street Journal or a simple comment from one of the millions of bloggers, like myself and Heather, across the world, your access to this information is your choice.
You are the decision maker.
But unfortunately, as of the date of this blog post, experiencing the Internet as open, diverse and democratic depends largely on upcoming policy decisions about Net Neutrality.

This issue is probably the most important for us to concern ourselves with, as with the right active stance, we can maintain a medium of free information and prevent a filtered, two tiered internet that delivers only what is approved by BIG media.
While ISPs are never quite forthcoming about their throttling, capping and otherwise interfering behavior, make no mistake about it… control and censorship is quietly happening as I write this post.
Recently, Time Warner’s AOL blocked all emails that mentioned www.dearaol.com, an advocacy campaign opposing AOL’s pay-to-send e-mail scheme. Similarly, BellSouth has blocked its customers’ access to MySpace.com in Tennessee and Florida. Net discrimination is real and happening every day.
Want to ensure the Internet will NOT look more like cable TV - where network owners will decide which channels, content and applications are available, and where consumers will have to choose from their menu?
Here’s some STEPS to take:
STEP #1: Get up to speed on the ins and out of Net Neutrality here.
STEP #2: A new bill has been introduced in U.S. House that would stop Comcast, Verizon and AT&T from controlling what you do, and where you go online. Sign the petition to give it fighting chance.
STEP #3: Just stay aware, quit believing everything mainstream media tells you, and spend some time investigating issues and syncing those up with your own internal truth meter. By staying curious, but with an iconoclastic eye, you’ll always be able to see, ahead of time, how outer circumstance can, and will, affect your inner process of conscious creation.
And, if you’re an American, read the book that many are calling the most important book of the 21st century… and… “a book that will change the world.”
