PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Digital Media Manager, Writer, Publisher

Multiple Sites – Multiple Projects – Self-employed

August 2004 to Present

  • For over 14 years, I have been involved in the world of information publishing, e-content selling and/or the lead in implementing various online marketing projects.
  • Since January 2009, I have focused 90% of my time and attention as co-founder, and acting publisher, of a small financial-publishing brand, M4 Research. We are currently (Summer – fall 2019) in the process of  winding down the content-publication and customer-acquisition side of the business. It will soon be transitioned to a 3rd-party to maintain its existing member base.

My online information publishing, content and sales skills are extensive and varied. But, the short run-down, since my full-time self-employment in 2004, is that I have provided online business services and strategic direction in the area of content creation, management & logistics, product development ideas and knowledge, customer service & support, affiliate program development, strategic planning & business structure, marketing & advertising implementation, resource and vendor collaboration & consolidation. Just to name a few.

Sales Consultant (Key Accounts)

Skycasters.com – Virginia Beach, VA

January 2002 to May 2004

  • One of the first 4 Account Representatives for the once leading full-service, facilities-based DirecWay VAR (i.e., once the largest and most experienced business-grade Satellite ISP for DirecWay/Hughes Aerospace).

Working as a 100% commission-based Sales Engineer, I sold, on average, about $15,000 worth of satellite equipment/services a week via the telephone & email.  As one of 12 Sales Engineers, I was responsible for converting incoming web/telephone inquires to prospects.

Those prospects were usually corporate IT folks, General Manager, Owners, etc. who needed fast, always-on Internet access without worrying about access restrictions (either they couldn’t get DSL/Cable or it was too costly to get it). I maintained a database of over 10,000 prospects whom were followed-up on consistently and methodically. The average Sales cycle (from initial inquiry to becoming a customer) was 3 months.

Director of Business Development

123hr.com – Virginia Beach, VA

April 2000 to July 2001

  • The Hampton Roads’ Virginia branch of 123hire.com (a national network of Community Career Centers).

Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with corporate recruiters, Human resource Directors, and key hiring managers throughout the community. Directly responsible for generating monthly sales revenue and overseeing the everyday operations of the local branch (sales, office management, client retention, marketing events, site functionality, etc.)

Key Accomplishments:

  • Starting from scratch (5/00), built website revenue to $6,000 per month (5/01). Accomplished this without a formidable and consistent Radio/TV media partnership.
  • Marketed and sold the first ever interactive Virtual Job Fair to the Hampton Roads community (October 2000). Sold 19 virtual employer booths, which totaled $44,000 in total revenue before splits with Media Partner.
  • Implemented reciprocal links and cross-marketing partnerships (formal and informal) with over 10 local Internet sites to help drive additional traffic to the site.
  • Increased credibility, trust, and communication flow with clients by publishing our monthly community-wide “Client Newsletter” which is full of general Human Resources tips, useful recruitment marketing advice, and current industry news.
