MUD, Joe, the Media

In light of my recent ramblings that… oh, how shall I say… aren’t so fun and jovial (unless you find value in understanding the oddness in human nature, like I do), I decided to change things up a bit today.

I have three key videos I think you’ll find very useful to your everyday life.

Let’s dive in…

MUD / WTR

I enjoy coffee, but I’m not a campfire black-only kind of dude. I like my creamers, especially the superfood coconut blends that add just enough sweetness to my morning cup of Joe (more about “Joe” in the next heading on this page).

So when I came across this coffee alternative with an edge, I couldn’t resist taking them up on their 30-serving trial kit.

Let’s just say, after thoroughly reviewing the ingredients, I’m excited as ‘a kid first entering Disney World’ to start trying this stuff (ETA: January 26th).

How it all began…
Coffee steals energy from the future. I was a coffee addict. I acquired the taste, it seemed helpful, and everyone was doing it. What started as a morning cup, turned into more to stave off the afternoon crash. This led to a vicious cycle of feeling tired, then wired, anxious, and jittery. It negatively affected my sleep, mood, and the very thing I drank it to enhance: creativity and performance.

It turns out, a healthy % of the population inherits a variant of the CYP1A2 gene which results in slow metabolism of caffeine. 90% of the population drinks caffeine every day making it America’s most popular drug. Guess the most common mental illness? Anxiety. Coincidence?

I started to try different compounds to create a morning ritual that wasn’t just a vessel for caffeine. I added lion’s mane for mental focus, cordyceps for physical performance, reishi to help me handle stress, chaga to support my immune system, and turmeric (with black pepper) for inflammatory support. I let cacao, cinnamon, and a little masala chai do the heavy lifting in the flavor dept. and with just 1/7th the caffeine of coffee I no longer had the jitters. In fact, I actually started dreaming again.

This wasn’t intended to be a business; I was an artist and designer. But, as I drank this daily for a few years, I noticed how often I met people who were trying to drink less coffee, gave it up for lent, or quit altogether.
After months of giving away this blend to friends and colleagues I started MUD\WTR in 2018. What helped me feel better has now helped over 100k customers with their energy, focus, anxiety, and sleep.

I’m grateful to have you in the mud fam but change doesn’t happen overnight. It took the desire to change and a commitment to a new habit to see the full benefits so, I put together a little timeline below to set you up for success.

Consider us on this ride with ya.

FINDING JOE

In the early 20th century, while studying world mythology, Joseph Campbell discovered a pattern hidden in every story ever told and he called it “The Hero’s Journey”.

A truly inspirational film, FINDING JOE takes us on the ultimate hero’s journey:

The journey of self discovery.

As you slay dragons and uncover treasures, you just may find that the holy grail you seek is closer than you think.

If you’ve seen this film then you know how much of an impact it could make in the world!

A message from the Producer:

If you haven’t seen it then you are in for a treat! This is hope, courage and love all wrapped up in an 80 minute burrito of inspiration. I promise who ever you share this with thank you. Please share this with as many people as you can… the world needs this message now!

MEDIA TRUST

This short video clip, which is a superb rant about the current state of journalism and fact-checked reporting, may not be as inspiring as the two above…

…nonetheless my liberty-loving brother-in-arms, Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, knocks it out of the park. Click video to hear what I mean:
